The Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

Part 4 of 8

The solar plexus chakra, or Manipura in Sanskrit is the third primary chakra and is located in the abdomen above the belly button up to the breastbone. In Sanskrit the meaning is "lustrous gem". It is linked with the color yellow and the Fire element. This chakra provides a source of personal power and relates to self-esteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation.

When the solar plexus chakra is in balance, a person exudes confidence (without being arrogant), feels self-motivated, and has a sense of purpose and control in life.

If you're experiencing chakra imbalance, you can suffer from low self-esteem, powerlessness, weak will power, unworthiness, be judgmental, have difficulty making decisions, stubbornness, manipulative, victim mentality, and may have anger or control issues. It also controls metabolism and digestion.

Some symptoms of the physical imbalance include blood pressure issues, diabetes, eating disorders, gall bladder, stomach or liver issues, autoimmune diseases, and other stress-related illnesses.
