What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese, holistic healing technique that promotes relaxation and stress reduction and activates the body's natural ability to heal itself. Universal life force energy, commonly referred to as chi, ki or prana, flows through pathways in and around the bodies of all living things. Stressors and traumas of everyday life can impede the flow of this energy which then causes blocks in the energy, and over time if left untreated the energy then manifests itself in emotional, mental and physical symptoms or illnesses.

Reiki works to help restore the energy flow to its optimal state of being which supports the body’s natural healing mechanisms. It addresses issues affecting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels without having prior knowledge of what the issues or concerns are. It promotes overall well-being and balance.

Reiki is not religious and requires no beliefs, therefore it is effective for people regardless of age, background or the beliefs they have. Learning Reiki is also suitable for all and requires no change in your spiritual or religious life, in fact, it enhances all spirituality.

Reiki is administered by "laying on hands" or hovering a few inches above the body and is based on the idea that "life force energy" flows through all living things and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Many benefits of Reiki include deep relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and disease and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki will never cause harm to anyone receiving it.
